Product received on time. About 5 days since I live in NW. Electric brake installation went very good after watching install video. My trailer had a four way flat cable. I converted it to 6 way because my 2007 Winnebago View on 2006 Dodge Sprinter had the 6 pin. After hooking everything up my brake lights didn't work. The running and blinkers did work. I did a bit of research online. My View has a 3 filament rear light system meaning the brake and blinker have their own circuit. My trailer and most out there combine the brake and blinker onto one circuit. So basically it's a 2 filament system. Bottom line: going from a 3 to 2 filament system you need a "tail light converter". I added the converter into my RV at the hitch 6pin round connector. It was wired the standard way as 6 pin go. The brake output wire labeled X or S on connector was removed and added to brake output line of converter. My converter had 5 pins on input and four on the output. White being ground on both side, brown is running lights, yellow as left turn and green as right turn. The converter basically combines the brake light and blinker functions onto one line.
Once I installed the brake controller this wire run from controller to hitch. I connected this side to S or X where I removed the brake light wire earlier. So now my electric brakes work on my trailer as do the brake lights.

I received the Pollak Circuit Breaker in good timing. The mounting bracket was mounted at a 90 degree angle from how it was advertised, but there was still plenty of room on my camper trailer frame to mount it. It works great! Fixed my converter for $10. including shipping.

I INSTALLED THIS IN PLACE OF ORIGINAL CIRCUIT BREAKER, ON OUR 2015 NASH 24H TRAVEL TRAILER. THE ORIGINAL TOOK IN WATER AND FAILED. I MOUNTED THIS POLLAK CIRCUIT BREAKER INSIDE A 6" LONG PIECE OF 1 1/2" ANGLE, AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY FOR THE SITUATION. THANKS VERY MUCH

Use this every time i install a brake controller It works great

by:

No problems in 1 year, and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped, so I guess it is fine. Sort of hard to tell with a circuit breaker. :-)

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for a Truck with Air Brakes and a Trailer with Electric Brakes
The trailer brakes work on a separate circuit than the lights. You have a couple of options to control the electric brakes on the trailer. One option is to use an air over electric brake control, # HA100400C. This unit connects to the air brakes on the truck and when the brakes are applied it sends an electric signal back to the trailer brakes. The other option, and what I would do, is to use an electric brake controller like # 90885. For either of these controllers, the red wire attaches...

  • Replacement Brake Release Handle Needed for the Husky Brute Electric Trailer Jack # HT87247
The only thing special about the included circuit breaker is that it has some wiring included with it for easy splicing. Any 30 amp circuit breaker that you would find at a local electrical/home improvement store, like part # PK54530, is perfectly acceptable. If the jack hasn't been used very much and the switch wasn't allowing you to operate the jack then that leads me to believe that the battery that powers the jack has been depleted. If the battery is in good working order then the...

  • Brake Controller Installed in 2021 Chevy Silverado Z71 Trail Boss Not Powering Up
Assuming that you've found the correct connector for the # 3064-P brake control harness which is located under the dash to the left of the steering column, I'd wager than you have a fuse missing in the power distribution box in the engine compartment on the passenger side. Check fuse location # 84, and make sure that there's a fuse installed there. If the fuse is missing or blown, you can obtain a replacement from your local auto parts store.

  • Installation of Electric Brake Controller on 2012 Isuzu NPR Connect
For your Pilot 2-6 Brake Electronic Brake Controller - Time Delayed # 80550, you will need to connect the black power wire to the battery of your vehicle using a circuit breaker like # PK54530 and # 12-1-1 wire. Then you will connect the red wire on your controller to the cold side of your brake light switch. From my research it looks like that is the green with white tracer, but you can check it with your circuit tester # PTW2993. The correct wire will show no power when the brake pedal...

  • Do 7-Way Trailer Connectors have Amp Ratings for Pins or the Whole Socket
Most if not all trailer wiring harnesses/connectors use larger wires for the 12 volt and ground circuits compared to the other circuits (lights). The sockets themselves don't have an amperage rating so you will go by the draw of the things drawing power. In order to figure out what the lights are drawing you could connect the trailer to the tow vehicle and turn on a function while testing the trailer side wiring behind the connector with a meter to see what sort of reading you get. Usually...

  • Troubleshooting No Trailer Running Lights with 2017 Ram 1500
If the trailer running lights circuit isn't active on the 7-Way of your 2017 Ram 1500 then you will want to check the 20 amp blue fuse located in the F29 position inside the power distribution box under the hood. The online version of the owner's manual for your Ram shows this fuse as being in charge of this particular circuit. If replacing the fuse does not resolve the issue please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.

  • What Size Circuit Breakers Can be Used on a Trailer for Electric Jack and Brake Functions
If those circuit breakers are indeed for the jack and the trailer brakes then they are likely redundant since the 12 volt circuit and brake circuit are already circuit protected on the vehicle side. Electric trailer jacks also usually have an internal circuit breaker and/or in line fuse. If you want to replace them you can. If you can verify what they go to as the jack and brakes then jack the specs on the jack to determine its amperage draw. Usually electric jacks on trailers are rated...

  • Recommended Tuson Trailer Brake Controller Needed For A 2020 Peterbilt 579 Semi
Hi Arlin, The reason you're seeing multiple versions is just because some are packaged with a custom-fit wire harness for easier installation. Since there isn't a plug-and-play wire harness for your Peterbuilt you'll just want the universal splice-in wire harness, which would be part # 335DL-100. The black wire will need to be ran to the battery with a 30 amp circuit breaker # PK54530 so you'll need more 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1, some ring terminals # 44-5356A, and butt connectors # DW05745-10....

  • Comparing The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite And Liberty Brake Controllers For A 2023 GMC Yukon XL
Hey Brian, To determine if you have a 12v or 24v system all you have to do is look at the battery. From what I can see your Yukon should have a 12v battery like most other passenger vehicles so the only other notable difference aside from the user-controlled mode for off-roading would be that the Elite # RED44FR is compatible with triple-axle trailers and the Liberty # RED52VR can only go up to tandem axles. Since you don't plan on off-roading the Liberty # RED52VR is likely going to...

  • Towing a Trailer with Electric Brakes with a Semi Tractor with Air Brakes

  • Curt Echo Not Working Plugged Into 2016 Ford F-150
Hi Brendan, The issue is with the wiring on your 2016 Ford F-150, as the 12 volt power is sometimes off on the 7-way if you're not moving, as you can see from the cut out of the instructions I added for the Curt Echo # C51180. So the 12 volt power needs to be routed directly to the positive terminal on your battery with 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 and 30 amp circuit breaker # PK54530.

RED wire carries the brake light input signal and connects to the cold side of the brake light switch (the side that carries a signal only when you press the pedal). WHITE wire is ground and connects to the negative battery...

If you're not running a 24v system or doing off-roading then the Liberty # RED52VR covers the rest. For the Elite you'll need part # RED44FR which will come with a universal splice in wire harness.
